“The Guardian” by Nicholas Sparks is a classic romance novel with a twist. The plot of this book is diverse and keeps you hooked and wanting to continue and read more. Nicholas Sparks is a man of many talents; he is capable of mixing mystery and romance genres easily, while making them flow perfectly. This novel just one of Nicholas’s many creations is set in modern time, in North Carolina. The main characters are as diverse as a caring, homely girl from San Francisco with a bad childhood whom still has innocence to a abusive man with horrid intentions. It also includes many non major different characters, each having there own purpose, pulling the book together. It is a book that is realistic because Nicholas does a great job at explaining there everyday lives in detail. The well thought out character descriptions and the past stories told about each individual really make it so that you know who they are, can relate to them, relate to there stories and actually get into the book.

This book I would rate a eight out of ten. It’s an amazing book and I would definitely recommend it to others. Especially those who enjoy well- written romance, mysteries, thrillers and also other Nicholas Spark novels. In “The Guardian” there is a lot of romance and heart filled pages, but also there is the wow factor of a twist in the story. The twist is what makes it so much more then a love story; it makes it interesting and keeps you needing to read further.
