1. Again Nicholas Sparks novel’s location is in North Carolina. Wilmington, North Carolina for the book Dear John but in his previous novels they have all been located in North Carolina. Is it because he lives there and can describe the areas more in detail then anywhere else or something about a beach setting that makes his romance novels? 2. Nicholas Sparks always places some sort of tragedy in his novels, a death, a stalker, a disease something that makes the endings of the novels more than a simple happy ending. I wonder why he does this, is it too give his novels depth and make them more complex? 3. Although, Nicholas had made his life as a famous writer selling many best selling novels and even novels made into a movie with famous actors. He has made it as a famous actor and I wonder what steps he took to get there and when/ what his first big break was? 4. In the novel after coming home from the war for 9/11, John was walking through the streets of New York feeling like he had to check every window for snipers and that he had to watch his back the entire time. What is this disease called in different forms and how common is it in soldiers? 5. I would have a lot of questions to ask the author of “Dear John” if I ever had the chance to. I would ask him about how he came up for the idea of this popular novel and even more popular motion picture film. Did it just suddenly come to him to write about the love between a army solider and a innocent horse riding small town girl because it’s in a way stereotypical or was it a thought that he had in his head for a long time changing how he should plan it out? How did he overall come up for the idea of “Dear John.”
